Remote Work: Is it the right choice?

Currently I reside in a small town known as Bridge City, Texas where I was born and raised. I temporarily moved to Houston for work but after a lay-off I moved back. I own a house in Bridge City where I live with my family and several pets, this makes it difficult for me to relocate at the current time. Relocating would require time to sell my house, money to find a new home that will accept my special needs animals and relocation cost for my family.

With that information I am currently looking for either something in the Golden Triangle of Southeast Texas, Lake Charles Louisiana or Remote. Remote work is fine for me as I do have a home office setup currently with a professional headset and web camera I used when I was working as a streamer. I am familiar with using Slack, Discord, GIT and JIRA for common work from home practices.

I have worked from home in a hybrid position on occasion with CapitalOne, AmeriCommerce and ExxonMobil over the years thus making me accustom to working remote and collaborating with my colleagues to conduct efficient and effective work.

However, for the right position or right company and with the right employment contract I may be willing to relocate me and my family. Alternatively, I would also be very open to a hybrid position, depending on distance, if long distance travel is covered by the company and the amount of time in-office is mutually reasonable.

Much documentation has been created on the work practice and the savings it can provide a company and employees alike. There are plenty of financial benefits for a company to hire remote workers and just as many for the employee savings along with employee happiness which leads to improved morale across the team and more output from employees.
